Final Music Magazine Double Spread page

This is my double spread for my music magazine. I choose to use this layout because it is easy to understand and easy to read. I had the idea of having a whole picture of the artist on one side then on the other side is text. Once again i was trying to use the colour co-ordinations of the bandana.

Final Music Magazine Contents Page

This is my contents page to my music magazine that i have created. This page shows what is going to be inside my magazine. I thought that this would be a good design to use for my magazine as it is very organised and easy to understand and read. On the contents page i added two pictures of my artist and made it bold who the artist was by having his name printed at the bottom of the page. Again for this content page i wanted to make it matching to the colours of the bandana.

This is my final frontcover design of my music magazine. I looked at my drafts and i thought that this was the most suitable design to use. The idea of this frontcover was that i tried to match up the artitsts bandana colours with the writing font so that it shows that it involves the artist on the frontcover.

After i had done my designs i had taken several photographs, so that when i design my magazine i can use these photographs on my front page, contents page and double spread page. In these pictures i had made my model to dress up in a sort of hip hop genre cothing so it projects to the audience that this magazine is talking about this sort of genre music. In order to give the impression i made my model wear a hoodie and also have a bandana across he's face. By doing this i was hoping to give the impression that he's someone who looks like he's in a gang and that he projects himself as a rap artist. For the props such as the hoodie and the bandana was provided by myself, as these props i had brought in for my model to wear. The position i made my model stand and the actions i told him to do, i got the idea from how rap artist '2 pac' use to show himself as someone who believes in god and at the same time rap's. There was no make-up used in the photographs that i had taken as only props were needed for my photograph.

These are my photographs taken by myself. The pictures was taken within a media classroom in my college.

In order for me to take my picture these are the following equipments that I had used:

· Canon Eos 400d Digital Camera

· Bowens Gemini Flash Unit with soft box

· Radio Trigger

Once my pictures were taken using the digital camera the photo was stored in a compact flash card so that I could use it to store onto my computer.When using the equipment I was under my teacher’s supervision for health and safety reasons.

Before i went ahead to go to do my double spread page, i had done a total of 4 drafts, each of these 4 drafts are different containing my ideas, between these 4 i had to become 1 design to be my final design.

These were my final 4 designs of my ideas of a double spread, and out of all the design the one i choose was my first design, i had choose this design because it is a classic design of a duble spread with a large image on one side and text on the other page.

These are my 4 content page drafts, i had taken time to choose the right layout and design to use and the final design i have chosen to use is the last design no.4, this is because i think that this design is easy to read but at the same time it is very organised. As like my frontcover i hope to use a black background so all the pages match up.
